Take Action On This Issue

Public lands provide some of the nation's best fish and wildlife habitat and hunting and fishing opportunities. These same lands are used for energy production and other multiple use purposes—balancing these land uses in a way that sustains healthy fish and wildlife is a challenge that has not always been met. As interest in wind and solar energy development on public lands grows, we are presented with an opportunity to learn from experience and manage development in a way that avoids, minimizes and mitigates negative impacts from the very beginning. The bipartisan Clean Energy, Community Investment, and Wildlife Conservation Act would help to ensure that renewable energy is developed responsibly on public lands by siting projects outside of sensitive habitat areas and generating revenue for the protection and restoration of fish and wildlife habitat.
